Milford, MA – Atlas Travel has ranked twelfth on the 2013 List of Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts. The travel industry leader has ranked in the top tier of the list since The Commonwealth Institute started tracking the success of women-led businesses in 2002.
“We are grateful to our loyal clients whose confidence in us continues to keep Atlas Travel on the list each year,” said Elaine Osgood, president and CEO of the travel management company she launched in 1986. “This is a very exciting time in our company’s history, as we continue to grow and expand our reach beyond the Northeast.”
In the past 18 months, Osgood has hired Lea Cahill as COO to help implement her vision of Atlas Travel’s next phase of growth and success. During this time, Osgood has brought Atlas Travel and Prime Numbers Technology, a technology firm she launched in 2007, under one executive management umbrella known as Atlas Travel & Technology Group, Inc. In addition, Atlas Travel has taken its success in the Northeast and expanded it with business development and program management hubs in the New York metropolitan area, Washington, DC/Mid- and Lower Atlantic and Chicago/Midwest. These teams, dedicated to the passionate customer service model responsible for the travel management company’s success in the Northeast, are introducing the benefits of working with Atlas Travel to companies throughout the country.
“We have further expansion plans, however we are very careful not to grow too fast,” said Osgood. “Careful, strategic growth is the only way we will maintain the integrity of our service levels and business culture. In the past year, we have invested heavily in both good people and innovative technology, both of which will serve our customers well.”
Atlas Travel’s recent expansion has also landed them this month on Inc. magazine’s list of Hire Power Awards, showcasing the privately held companies across the U.S. who have generated the most jobs in the past 18 months. A 33% increase in Atlas Travel team members has ranked it #4 in the Top 10 Travel & Hospitality companies nationwide and on the Top 10 Companies in Massachusetts across all industries.
In addition to geographic expansion, Osgood’s team has also focused on identifying bright, new talent and is offering internship, mentoring and job opportunities to the next generation of travel industry professionals.
“Women-led businesses are uniquely collaborative and mentoring,” said Osgood. “I think that is one of our strongest assets and part of the very reason The Commonwealth Institute is in existence and creates listings like the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses. We congratulate our many clients who are on the list with us this year and look forward to seeing who is highlighted in the future.”
