New Position Created to Help Implement Strategic Growth Strategies
Milford, MA — Atlas Travel has announced that Aaron Kelling will join the award-winning global travel management company as chief commercial officer, a newly created position responsible for assuring excellence across the entire Atlas Travel offering as the company implements strategic growth plans.
“As Atlas Travel serves a growing audience globally, it is key to have a strong leader responsible for consistent integration of product marketing, business development and account services,” said Atlas Travel President and CEO Elaine Osgood. “We always want to be the company who delivers what the customer needs and what we promise. Aaron will help Atlas Travel continue to do this as we strategically expand into new markets.”
Kelling joins Atlas following a highly successful seven-year tenure at AirPlus International, where he was most recently executive vice president, strategic partnerships & sales effectiveness. Over the past seven years, AirPlus grew from $10 million in annual revenues to over $1 billion. Atlas Travel has partnered with AirPlus to provide global payment solutions to corporate travelers for several years. Prior to joining AirPlus, Kelling worked for both American Express and Galileo International and is well-known throughout the travel industry.“I’m thrilled to join Atlas Travel at this pivotal moment in the company’s growth,” said Kelling. “Atlas is very well positioned in the market to continue its expansion. I share their vision for transforming the corporate travel experience and look forward to helping lead the well-respected Atlas team through this exciting time.”
Kelling, who will start his transition in November and officially come aboard at Atlas Travel in January, will work closely with COO Lea Cahill, who was hired by Osgood earlier this year to be the chief architect of the company’s strategic expansion plan.
According to Cahill, “Aaron has a proven track record of expanding brand awareness, exploiting key corporate differentiators, collaborating across the organization to ensure excellence in relationship management and being a thought leader in the travel industry. I really look forward to working with him.”
In addition to these two key hires, Atlas Travel has beefed up its account management team in 2012 and opened account management/business development hubs to service companies in the Washington, DC/Mid- and Lower-Atlantic region, as well as Chicago and the Midwest. The company is also the first travel agency to partner with Amadeus on its entire Amadeus One suite of IT solutions, the implementation of which is on schedule for launch and roll-out during Q4 and through 2013.
